IMG offers a new line of medium voltage Trailing Cable Coupler Systems for use in surface and underground operations to distribute power to mobile, electric equipment.

While maintaining standards and compatibility with other products available on the current market, various design improvements and new features have been integrated into the new IMG Cable Coupler Systems.

During the development phase, IMG focused on three most important aspects of any mining equipment's design: durability, reliability and safety.

Medium voltage trailing cable couplers are available in various ratings to accommodate clients needs and specification:

1,100V 170A & 250A
	IMG 1.1kV couplers are typically used in hard-rock mining or tunnelling operations. They are used to distribute power to electrical site equipment such as shovels, drillers, pumps, controllers, motors & such. Couplers area available in: 170A or 250A rating; Aluminum or Bronze housing; powder-coated or bare metal; 1 or 2 Control/Pilot Pins; Cable-mount or Equipment-mount style
8,000V 250A & 400A
	IMG couplers rated up to 8kV are typically used on open pit mining/quarry systems rated at 5,000 to 8,000V. They are compatible with similar models on the current market, however, these couplers are designed to incorporate many improvements and new safety featuressuch as: 3-piece, durable insulators; IMG Live-Line Indication System; new style of Interlock-key system; main body bars for easy handling; moisture-tight entrance fitting; no exterior bolts; and more.
15,000V 500A
	IMG couplers rated up to 15kV, 500A are used to power large pit equipment. This system is similar to the design of the IMG 8kV couplers and incorporates many of the same features: 3 piece insulators; interlock system, LLI, body bars, entrance fitting, and such. The IMG entrance fitting used in these couplers fits the 8, 15 & 25kV coupler range. The entrance fitting is completely moisture-proof thus eliminating the need for body filling.
25,000V 500A
	IMG has successfully finalized all testing of the new IMG coupler design rated up to 25kV, 500A. These units are same size as the IMG 15kV couplers, which makes them one of the smallest 25kV designs on the market. They incorporate 3 separate, shielded insulators and will include various safety and durability features as those of other IMG couplers.

Features & Benefits:

• New method of Wire Termination ensures a secure contact and connection between wires and pin/socket contacts.
• Stainless Steel Wire Spring Band on Female Sockets ensures a secure and lasting connection between male & female contacts.
• Silicon Stress Control Termination Kit is re-usable and provides air-free termination (8/15kV)
• Three separate Phase Insulators VS one moulded insulator piece allows for cost savings. (8/15KV)
• Phase Insulators are made from rigid, thermoset material ensuring durability, heat resistance and high insulation properties.
• Cable Entrance assembly, comprising of Cable Entrance Clamp, silicon Cable Gland and Cable Compression Ring, is designed to seal and clamp cable to coupler with one action.
• An optional safety feature of the new 8 & 15kV Coupler is a “Live-Line LED Indication System” that provided an operator with visible indication of an energized coupler.
• New ‘Key Interlock’ system is an additional optional feature in the 8 & 15kV systems that prevents coupler disconnection without prior switchhouse lock-out.
